FAQs
You have questions, we have answers!
We recommend annual wellness visits for most adult pets, and more frequent check-ups for puppies, kittens, and senior pets. These visits help us catch issues early and keep your pet healthy.
We specialize in caring for dogs and cats. If you have a different type of pet, feel free to contact us, and we can recommend a specialist who is better suited to meet their needs.
A veterinarian will perform a full nose-to-tail exam, review your pet’s history, discuss vaccinations, parasite prevention, diet, and answer any questions you may have.
Most appointments last 30–45 minutes. More complex visits, such as diagnostics or surgery consultations, may take long
Vaccine recommendations depend on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and health status. During your visit, we’ll create a personalized vaccine schedule to keep your pet protected.
Signs include bad breath, tartar buildup, red gums, drooling, or difficulty eating. Regular check-ups allow us to spot dental problems early and recommend treatment if needed.
We encourage scheduling an appointment whenever possible. However, if your pet has an urgent need, please call us right away and we’ll do our best to accommodate. For after-hours emergencies, we partner with nearby emergency clinics to ensure your pet gets the care they need 24/7.
You can provide us with your previous veterinarian’s information and we can reach out for records. You can also give your previous veterinarian our contact information and they can send records to info@laketailsvet.com. We highly recommend having records transferred prior to your first appointment, that way our veterinarians have time to review those records and spend your appointment time on you and your pet.

We currently focus on providing the highest quality medical care for your pets, so we do not offer boarding or grooming. However, we’re happy to recommend trusted local providers to help meet those needs.
